Biopore: High Density Porous Polyethylene

Biopore™

Manufactured from linear high density polyethylene
Porosity is maintained large with average pore size from 300 to
700 micrometers and a pore volume in the 40-50 percent range.
The interconnecting, omni directional pore structure of BIOPORE
Implants which allows tissue ingrowth.
The lightweight property of BIOPORE Implants, the
biocompatibility of the porous polyethylene and the ability to place
the implant deep in the socket contribute to the overall popularity
of this implant.
BIOPORE Implants can be easily cut/ moulded/reshaped during
surgery, sutures or other rigid implants can be passed through it.
This makes it an exciting material with ever increasing range of
application in maxillofacial, orbital, and neurosurgical surgeries.

Orbital Surgery
BIOPORE Implant Sheets provide the surgeon with excellent reconstructive options for orbital floor and wall repair
TissuBlock© are specially designed sheets, with a special noporous barrier on one side to prevent tissue attachment to the implant surface
The barrier sheets are available in two barrier patterns, with either a trumpet-shaped or a rectangular barrier
The extended inferior orbital rim implants allows augmentation of the inferior orbital rim and support for the lower lid

Fixation with
titanium miniscrews

Oculoplastics
Orbital implants provide surgeons with porous biocompatible implants for orbital reconstruction following enucleation and evisceration procedure
Front Smooth Surface and Channels
Orbital spheres are also available with Front Smooth Surface that reduce the risk of exposure of the orbital implants inserted without overlying fascia or scleral wrap
